Smarty Pantss ("we") runs smartypantss.com, a brain-games party site. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have.
What we collect
- Account details: name, username, email, password (stored hashed by our database provider; we never see it), birth year, country (optional), and your avatar.
- Game data: every game you finish: the games played, scores, answers given and how long they took, streaks, rank, the people you played with, XP, levels and badges.
- Usage analytics (only if you agree): pages and screens opened, buttons such as invite and rematch, device type, session length, and which invite link brought you here.
- Invites: when you invite friends we record that an invite was sent, and if a friend signs up from your link we record that they were referred by you.
Why we use it
- To run the game: your profile, stats, history, leaderboards, badges and rivalries.
- To improve the games, for example making puzzles that are too hard easier.
- To show sponsors and partners how the site is used, only as totals (for example "5,000 monthly players, 62% aged 18–34"). We never give sponsors your name, email or individual data, and we never sell your personal data.
- To email you news and your weekly recap, only if you opt in. You can unsubscribe at any time.
Who can see what
Other players see your username, display name, avatar, level and scores on leaderboards and in parties. Your email, birth year and country are private.
Where it is stored
Your data is stored with Supabase (database and accounts) and the site is hosted by Vercel. [Add the region you choose in Supabase.]
Your rights
In your account (My stats → Account) you can download all your data, change your consent choices, or delete your account and all of its data at any time. You can also email [CONTACT EMAIL]. If you live in the EU, UK or California you have rights to access, correct, delete and port your data, and to object to processing.
Children
Smarty Pantss is for people aged 13 and over. We don't knowingly collect data from children under 13; if you believe a child has signed up, contact us and we'll delete the account.
Cookies and local storage
We store your login session and game settings in your browser. Analytics only run if you agree.
